Arnold named elementary academic coordinator

Katie Arnold has been named the new elementary academic coordinator for the Cheatham County School District.

This is Arnold’s 17th year in the district. Her previous educational experience includes nine years of teaching at Sycamore Middle School. She also held the role of academic director at Harpeth High School for three years and academic specialist at Cheatham Middle School for two years.

She has spent the past two years in the position of the district’s ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund) coordinator, managing multiple grants and supervising both the TN All Corps tutoring program and summer learning camps.

In 2022, she was selected by the Tennessee Department of Education to serve on the TN All Corps Advisory Council. The TN All Corps program is a high-dosage, low-ratio tutoring program to boost student outcomes and accelerate academic achievement.

Arnold received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Austin Peay State University.

“It is truly an honor to step into this role. I am looking forward to supporting and collaborating with our principals, teachers, and staff of the Cheatham County School District,” she said.
