New federal programs director named

The Cheatham County School District announces that Dr. Melinda Broyles has been named our new federal programs director.

Broyles will replace Judy Bell, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Broyles, the current principal at Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy, has been in education for 23 years and joined our district in 2015. She was appointed the ACESA principal in 2018.

She has taught middle and high school math and has served in a number of administrative roles during her career. In Cheatham County, she was the assistant principal at ACESA and Riverside Academy for two years and district attendance supervisor for two years.

“Being a part of the Cheatham County School District has been such a blessing both personally and professionally. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to serving all Cheatham County schools in my new role,” Broyles said.

Broyles will begin her new position on July 1. A search for her replacement at ACESA is currently underway.
