"Stuff the Bus" returns on July 27

Many children look forward to arriving on the first day of school with new notebooks, backpacks and pencils, but it’s a different story for children whose families can’t afford these items.

To meet this community need, the Cheatham County School District will host the second annual “Stuff the Bus” on Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Buses will be parked at six locations across the county for the community to drop off school supplies.

Buses will be located at Walmart in Ashland City, Dollar General in Kingston Springs, Dollar General in Pegram, Dollar General Market in Pleasant View, Dollar General on Bearwallow Road (East Cheatham), Dollar General on Neptune Road and Highway 12 North (West Cheatham).

The district is asking that you purchase school supplies and bring them to the bus on this date, which coincides with tax-free weekend in Tennessee. Team members will be on hand to collect your supplies and stuff them on the bus.

Once all of the supplies are collected, they will be divided among Cheatham County schools and be given to students who need supplies for the upcoming school year.
