Cox named Human Resources, Student Services and Policy supervisor

The Cheatham County School District has named Wendy Cox as the district’s new supervisor of Human Resources, Student Services and Policy.

Cox, who is currently the principal of East Cheatham Elementary School, replaces Dr. Beth Batson, who has been named the Human Resources supervisor for Robertson County Schools.

Cox began her Cheatham County teaching career in 1995 as a second-grade teacher at Pleasant View Elementary School.

She served as a first, second and third grade teacher and curriculum coach at Kingston Springs Elementary School from 1996-2012 and assistant principal at Harpeth Middle School from 2012-2014 before being named the principal at ECES in 2014.

Under Cox’s guidance, “The Leader in Me” program awarded ECES with its highest and most coveted honor as the school was named a “Leader in Me Lighthouse School” in 2019.

She was named the district’s Principal of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.

“I’m very excited and eager to begin this new journey working with administrators, teachers, staff and students in the Cheatham County School District. I look forward to continuing to serve and assist our school district to achieve excellence while practicing the approaches I have learned as principal of a Leader in Me school,” Cox said.
