Second District Cheatham County School Board member Kimberly Messer has resigned from the Board to take the resource coordinator position at Riverside Academy.
Due to her resignation, the Cheatham County Commission will appoint an individual to fill the Second District vacancy until the general election on Aug. 6, 2020.
Individuals who are interested need to submit in writing their request to be considered for the position to the County Clerk, 354 Frey St., Suite F, Ashland City, TN 37015 within seven days prior to the next Commission meeting on Jan. 27, 2020.
Individuals wishing to be considered may also submit their name and qualifications to the Commission chairman at the meeting. Members of the Commission may also submit names for consideration at the time of the meeting.
To be considered, an individual must be a resident of the Second District and possess a high school degree or GED.
Mrs. Messer had served on the board since 2014 and served as chairwoman for two years. We appreciate her dedicated service to the district.
