Elementary schools adding Little Italy pizza to menu

The Cheatham County School District is excited to announce that our six elementary schools will have a new lunch item on the menu this year: restaurant-quality pizza.

The district will start rolling out Little Italy pizza this week and it will be available in all elementary schools within the next three weeks.

Ever since the district started serving the Smart Mouth personal pizzas in 2018 at the middle and high schools, School Nutrition Supervisor Tracy Hopkins has been researching options to provide the same in our elementary schools.

Hopkins recently held taste testing with the Little Italy brand at Ashland City Elementary School and Kingston Springs Elementary School, and the pizza proved to be popular just like it has been for the Smart Mouth pizza in the middle and high schools.

All of the recipes from Little Italy are in compliance with federal nutritional values.
