Principal, supervisor of the year named

The Cheatham County School District is honored to announce that Robyn Miller has been named the district’s Principal of the Year and Emily Staggs has been selected as Supervisor of the Year.

Miller has been in the education field for 25 years – all at Sycamore Middle School.

She taught fifth grade and eighth grade and served as an instructional assistant principal, academic coach and assistant principal before being named the school’s principal in 2017.

Staggs joined the district in 1992 and started teaching at Pleasant View Elementary School for 12 years. She moved to Sycamore Middle School and then became the assistant principal of academics at Sycamore High School.

She has been with the district for 27 years and in education for 31 years.

For the past eight years, Staggs has been the Pre-K and Daycare supervisor, and she oversees the Cheatham Achievers after-school program at the three middle schools.

Both Miller and Staggs said they are honored to receive the award and blessed to work with the best staff, parents, students and colleagues.

Congrats to both of these outstanding educators! They will now advance to the state-level competition in their respective category.
