Capital projects underway during COVID-19 closure

While schools have been closed due to COVID-19, employees from IES, the Cheatham County School District’s maintenance contractor, have been busy working on a number of capital projects.

In May 2019, the Cheatham County Commission approved funds that allows the district to make school maintenance upgrades over a three-year period.

Some of the projects that have recently been completed include new theatre seating and carpet at Harpeth High School and Sycamore High School; new bottle filling stations at Sycamore High School and Ashland City Elementary School; and gym bathroom renovations at Ashland City Elementary School.

Additionally, a new cafeteria serving line was installed at East Cheatham Elementary School. It replaced the line that was original to the school, which opened in 1957.

Additional projects throughout the district are in the works.
