New dates announced for high school proms

The Cheatham County School District's three high schools will have a prom after all since the original ones had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

• Cheatham County business owner Valerie Kemp is organizing a prom for Cheatham County Central High School and it will tentatively be held Friday, July 17 beginning at 7 p.m. at The Adalea in Chapmansboro. Kemp and other businesses and community members are sponsoring the prom.

• Harpeth High School will host its prom Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. in the school’s gym.

• Sycamore High School parents and community members are organizing and raising money for a prom and it will tentatively be held Friday, July 10 beginning at 7 p.m. at Clementine Hall in Nashville.

Please note that the CCCHS and SHS proms are not school-sponsored.

Also, if the state of Tennessee or CDC determines that large gatherings are not allowed on those dates, then the proms may need to be adjusted or canceled.
