Summer food distribution information

The Cheatham County School District’s meal distribution program is over for the school year, but there will still be plenty of opportunities for our families to receive free food over the summer.

The first opportunity is Saturday, May 30 as One Generation Away, working in conjunction with local churches, is hosting a food distribution at Ashland City Elementary School.

Food will be distributed from 9-11 a.m. or until resources run out.

This will operate as a drive-through distribution (see flyer for the details).

Another opportunity for the community to receive food will be Saturday, June 6 as the Big Food Truck will make a stop at the 24 Church in Pleasant View. The drive-through food giveaway will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients will need to enter from the side of Pleasant View City Hall.

The district is also working on plans for additional food distributions in June and July at four locations throughout the county: Ashland City Elementary School, 24 Church, Cheap Hill Church of Christ and The Ark. These will be similar to the ones that were held in March.
