Meet the HHS valedictorian, salutatorian

Cadiz Cantwell, HHS valedictorian

Cadiz Cantwell is the valedictorian of the Harpeth High School Class of 2020.

While attending HHS, she served as president of HOSA, National Honor Society and Student Council. She also participated in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Harpeth Unified, served as a Special Olympics Unified partner and played on the Lady Indians basketball team for three years.

Her top accomplishments at HHS were being a research intern for the Aspirnaut Summer Research Internship at Vanderbilt Medical Center for two summers and being a QuestBridge National College Match Finalist.

Cantwell’s favorite high school memory was going whitewater rafting with 25 of her classmates.

She plans to attend Clemson University and intends on majoring in pre-med/international health and language.

 

Grant Patterson, HHS salutatorian

Grant Patterson is the salutatorian of the Harpeth High School Class of 2020.

During his time at HHS, he was on the basketball team (captain his senior year) and soccer team (captain both his junior and senior year) and a member of the National Honor Society (vice president his senior year) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was voted Most Athletic Senior Superlative.

Additionally, Patterson participated in Youth Leadership Cheatham County, served as secretary of the senior class and participated in the Cheatham County School District’s STEM competition. He also appeared in multiple theatrical productions and participated in the Austin Peay State University collaborative program his junior year.

His top accomplishment was forming great relationships with his classmates and teachers that will last a lifetime.

Patterson’s favorite high school memory was all the time spent with his friends on the river, playing sports or just doing nothing at Sonic.

He plans to attend Western Kentucky University’s Mahurin Honors College and study pre-med.
