Hybrid students in grades 5-12 enrolled in the Cheatham County School District are eligible to rent an Internet hotspot to assist them in their learning this year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to boost connectivity in neighborhoods that have cellular phone service, the district has purchased 100 hotspots.
Families/students who have chosen the all-virtual learning option will not be eligible to receive a hotspot.
There is an application process for the hotspots and they will be distributed based upon a screening of prioritized needs.
Families can download a copy of the application, fill it out and email it to Will Lockert at the Board of Education at [email protected].
Verizon Wireless is the cellular provider that will be providing the network for the hotspots.
