District stays with 14-day quarantine recommendation

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDOH) recently announced new allowable quarantine guidelines presented by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Out of an abundance of caution and after consulting with our principals and school nurses, the Cheatham County School District will continue to follow the TDOH and CDC 14-day quarantine recommendations.

The new quarantine guidelines were recommended only if individuals could properly social distance and wear a face mask at all times while self-monitoring symptoms. There is no guarantee that these can be done at all times inside all of our buildings.

This decision means that all students and staff members who have been exposed to a person with a positive case of COVID-19 will continue to quarantine for 14 days if they have no symptoms during this 14-day period.

As always, we appreciate our employees, parents and students for all the sacrifices they are making as our community navigates the pandemic.
