Pegram welcomes new academic specialist

The Cheatham County School District has named Sue Mullican as the academic specialist at Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School.

Mullican is currently the RTI Interventionist at Pegram. Before moving to Pegram, she taught at Cheatham Middle School, where she was awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year.

Mullican received her bachelor's in psychology and a master's in ministry before spending a decade serving as a youth minister in Kansas City and Nashville. Her years in ministry gave her invaluable experience working with young people.

When she transitioned to the education field, Mullican worked at Lipscomb University while completing her M.Ed. in Instructional Practice. As a teacher, she has shown a commitment to finding innovative and creative ways to engage students in learning.

ā€œIā€™m honored and excited about this new opportunity. Our world seems to spend a lot of time tearing teachers down. I hope to support and empower teachers, helping them utilize their incredible gifts and see the impact they make each day,ā€ she said.
