Meet your 2023 Cheatham County valedictorian, salutatorian

Carter Pardue

Carter Pardue is the valedictorian of the Cheatham County Central High School Class of 2023. 

During his time at CCCHS, Pardue was involved in Cheatham County Unified as a Cub Buddy, a Civics Bee participant, served as the Hospitality Club treasurer, a member of Cubs for Christ, and played both basketball and baseball.

He earned District 9-AA All-Defensive and All-Tournament team honors in basketball and District 9-AA All-District, All-Tournament, and All-County honors for baseball.

His favorite basketball memory is when the team manager, his friend, Aaron, got to start his Senior Night and scored his first varsity basket. As for baseball, he enjoyed the team camaraderie and loved hitting a grand slam against Sycamore his junior season.

He will graduate with 26 college credit hours from Dual Enrollment and Austin Peay State University. He maintained a 4.0 throughout high school, earning several academic scholarships. 

He plans to continue his education at Tennessee Tech University as a Presidential Scholar or potentially elsewhere to also play baseball for one of the schools offered.

His goal is to get a degree in business, followed by his Masters in Business Administration and potentially law school.

Syler White

Syler White is the salutatorian of the Cheatham County Central High School Class of 2023.  

While attending CCCHS, White participated in Cheatham County Unified as a Cub Buddy, served as the Hospitality Club president, was a member of Cubs for Christ, and played basketball for the Cubs. He earned District 9-AA All-District honors in basketball.  

He will graduate with 16 college credit hours from dual enrollment with Austin Peay State University. He maintained a 4.0 throughout high school, earning several academic scholarships.  

In the fall, he plans to continue his education at Belmont University. His goal is to become a mechanical engineer.
