New secondary academic coordinator selected

We are excited to announce that Ryan Philipp has been named our new secondary academic coordinator.

Philipp, who has served as the academic specialist at Cheatham County Central High School since 2022, will replace Kristian Dennison, who recently accepted a position with the Tennessee Department of Education.

Philipp is a 2001 graduate of Harpeth High School, and he earned his MA, MS, and Ed. S degrees from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a School Administrative Endorsement from Lipscomb University.

He has worked in education for 18 years. During his career with the district, he has also served as a teacher at Harpeth High School, assistant principal at Cheatham Middle School, principal at Harpeth Middle School and academic specialist at Harpeth High School.

“This is truly an honor to have the opportunity to serve as part of the academic leadership team in my home district of Cheatham County. As a student, long-time employee, and parent within this district, there is no place I would rather continue my academic career and I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to work with our fantastic teachers and staff all across the district in this new and exciting role,” he said.
