Principal, supervisor of the year named

The Cheatham County School District is honored to announce that Linda Owen has been named Principal of the Year and Chris Cooper has been selected as Supervisor of the Year.

Owen has served as the principal of Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy since 2024. She has been with the district for 18 years. She has also served as the principal and assistant principal at Cheatham Middle School and taught at both CMS and Sycamore Middle School.

Cooper has served as the district’s CTE/STEAM coordinator since 2021. He has been with the district for 11 years. He also served as an academic specialist at Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School and Kingston Springs Elementary School and band director at Harpeth Middle School.

Congrats to both outstanding educators! They will now go on to compete in their respective categories in the Mid-Cumberland region.

Additionally, Cooper is the Mid-Cumberland nominee for the Pioneer Award for CTE directors. This award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership in CTE administration. He will represent the Mid-Cumberland region at the state level.
