The Cheatham County School District has named Susie Kephart as the new principal at Harpeth Middle School.
Kephart will replace Dr. Audra Williams, who announced earlier this month that she is stepping down to pursue other opportunities.
Kephart, a 2008 graduate of Sycamore High School, has been with the Cheatham County School District since August 2012. She is currently the assistant principal at Cheatham Middle School.
During her career with the district, she taught and coached at Cheatham County Central High School for six years, serving as a wellness and physical education teacher and softball and soccer coach.
In 2018, she was named the dean of students at Cheatham Middle School and served in that role for four years. She was named the school’s assistant principal in 2022.
Kephart received her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University in 2012 and her master’s degree from Austin Peay State University in 2017.
“I have a deeply invested interest in Cheatham County Schools, having graduated from the district myself. It will be an honor to share my leadership experience with the staff, students and families at Harpeth Middle School,” Kephart said.
She added: “I believe middle school is a critical time to help students discover their potential, and I am passionate about leading a school where all students feel safe, challenged and supported.”
Harpeth Middle School staff members, families and students are welcome to attend a meet and greet on Wednesday, April 2 from 4-5:30 p.m. to meet the new principal.
