The Cheatham County School District has named Carolann Adcock as its new Response to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator.
Adcock has worked for the district for 30 years – all at Sycamore Middle School. She spent 25 years as a fifth-grade teacher before taking over as the school’s RTI interventionist five years ago.
In her new role, Adcock will work collaboratively with school and district personnel to ensure all students receive intervention according to their needs. She will oversee the required tutoring supports as the All Corps tutoring coordinator. Additionally, she will oversee the Summer School program as the Summer School coordinator.
A 1991 graduate of Cheatham County Central High School, Adcock earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Tennessee Tech University in 1995 and a master’s degree in reading from Austin Peay State University in 2011.
“Thank you for placing your trust in me. It was not an easy decision to leave Sycamore Middle School. It’s all I have ever known, they are my family. I prayed continuously that God would lead me in the right direction. I will always be thankful for such a wonderful experience,” she said.
Adcock added: “Throughout my last five years I have witnessed firsthand the impact of strong Response to Intervention practices. I am eager to bring my knowledge, experience, and passion for student success to this district level role. I am confident that we can build on the foundation of our current initiatives while continuously striving to improve and innovate. I am excited to embark on this new chapter and to continue working with such a talented team of professionals to make a difference in the lives of our students.”
