Sydnee Mitchell was chosen by her peers at Cheatham County Central High School to be this year’s commencement speaker.
During her time at CCCHS, Mitchell was involved in Student Council as a grade-level representative and most recently, as the student body president. She served as the JAG-TN NCA president and placed Top 5 in Financial Literacy in this year's JAG State Conference. She was a member of HOSA, BETA Club, Prom Committee, and played basketball for CCCHS.
Mitchell was the basketball Region Tournament MVP for 2025 and was on the All-Tournament team for District 11-AA.
She will graduate summa cum laude with 27 college credit hours from dual enrollment and Austin Peay State University. She maintained a 4.0 throughout high school, earning several academic scholarships.
Mitchell plans to continue her education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville as a Volunteer Scholar. She will obtain a degree in nursing with the goal to attend a school to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA).
The CCCHS graduation is Friday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center.
