Howell named new KSES principal

The Cheatham County School District has named Ben Howell as the new principal at Kingston Springs Elementary School.

Howell, the current dean of students at Cheatham Middle School, will replace Andrea Bledsoe, who will become the district’s new behavior coordinator.

Howell has been with the district since August 2013. He served as a teacher at Harpeth High School for nine years before being named the CMS dean of students in 2022. During his time at HHS, Howell taught physical science, chemistry, physics, and agriculture.

Howell, a 2008 graduate of HHS, received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Austin Peay State University. He will finish his master's degree in educational leadership from APSU in June.

“It is an honor to lead KSES on its continued path of excellence. I look forward to building relationships with the students and families of this community I know and love,” he said.

Howell and his wife, Amanda, a special education assistant at HHS, reside in Pegram with their son, William, a student at KSES.
