The Cheatham County School District will begin Pre-K and kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year the week of April 13.
Special registration nights will be held at our elementary schools:
• Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School, Monday, April 13, 5-6 p.m.
• Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy, Wednesday, April 15, 5-6 p.m.
• Pleasant View Elementary School, Wednesday, April 15, 5-6 p.m.
• West Cheatham Elementary School, Thursday, April 16, 5-7 p.m.
• Kingston Springs Elementary School, Thursday, April 16, 5-6 p.m.
• East Cheatham Elementary School, Friday, April 17, 5-6 p.m.
Families will be able to meet the teachers, tour the school and register their child for the new school year.
Pre-K is open to students who turn 4 on or before Aug. 15, 2026, and whose family is income eligible based on the U.S. Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines.
The district offers Pre-K at four elementary schools: Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy, East Cheatham Elementary School, Pegram Elementary Fine Arts Magnet School and West Cheatham Elementary School.
The documents needed for Pre-K registration are:
• Proof of income (examples: paycheck stubs, tax documents, etc.)
• Proof a child’s age (examples: birth certificate, passport, tax return, medical record, etc.)
• Up-to-date immunization record (must be on official state of Tennessee form)
• Up-to-date proof of a physical exam (must be on official state of Tennessee form)
• Three current proofs of residency (examples: driver’s license, utility bills, rent/mortgage agreement, auto registration, etc.)
• Custody/guardianship papers signed by a judge (only if child is not living with both biological parents)

Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 15, 2026, to be eligible to start kindergarten.
The documents needed for kindergarten registration are:
• Proof of child’s age (examples: birth certificate, passport, tax return, medical document, etc.)
• Immunization record/proof of physical exam (must be up-to-date on official state of Tennessee form)
• Three current proofs of residence (examples: driver’s license, utility bills, rent/mortgage agreement, voter registration, bank statement, auto registration, etc.)
• Custody/Guardianship paper signed by a judge (only if child is not living with both biological parents)
