The Tennessee Tiered Supports Center (TSC), in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE), has announced that the Cheatham County School District has been named a 2025-26 RTI²-A+B RTI2-A+B Ground Breakers Award recipient.
The Ground Breakers Award recognizes Tennessee school districts that have taken meaningful and pivotal first steps in aligning their Response to Instruction and Intervention for Academics and Behavior (RTI²-A+B) tiered support systems in partnership with the Tennessee Tiered Supports Center.
As the foundational level within the RTI²-A+B District Model of Demonstration Program, the Ground Breakers Award highlights a district’s early efforts in planning, professional learning, and system development that establish a strong foundation for lasting, impactful support structures.
Through thoughtful self-assessment, intentional action planning, and district-wide professional learning, the Cheatham County School District has demonstrated a clear commitment to building cohesive, unified supports for all students.
The Cheatham County School District is well-positioned to continue this important work and is on a strong path toward becoming a Model of Demonstration for RTI²-A+B in Tennessee.
“Districts like the Cheatham County School District are leading the way in building a strong foundation for effective student support systems. We are proud to celebrate their progress and look forward to sharing their continued success as they advance toward becoming a Model of Demonstration for districts across the state,” the TSC said in the announcement.
