The Cheatham County School District is sharing information with our families about our participation in a program that helps us test for lead in drinking water at all schools.
The district emailed families about the testing for the 2026-2027 school year on Friday, August 21, 2026.
The testing is provided by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC)’s Lead Testing in Schools and Child Care Centers (LTSCC) Program.
It is a voluntary, statewide program that provides testing and guidance to help facilities that care for children to reduce potential lead exposure in drinking water. Financial support is made possible by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA).
We anticipate completing the testing within the next 45 days and will have the analysis results within 3 weeks of collecting the samples.
