District monitoring daily attendance in regards to illness

The Cheatham County School District monitors its attendance each day in regards to student and staff illnesses.

Director of Schools Dr. Cathy Beck reports that the district’s daily attendance is about 90 percent.

The district’s attendance rate would have to reach a certain threshold before school is closed for illness. Thankfully, the district has not reached that point.

If the district’s attendance rate reaches a threshold of concern, it would consider any necessary decisions to close school.

The district is asking for parents to be vigilant in helping maintain a healthy school environment.

Please remember that students should stay home when they are sick and remain symptom and fever free for 24 hours before returning to class.

If there is any concern about your child’s health, please consult with a health care professional.
